RUSHFORD, MINN. - Harley A. Jorde, 78, of Rushford died on Wednesday, December 20, 2006, at the Golden Living Center of LaCrescent, in LaCrescent, Minn. Harley was born on January 8, 1928, in Rushford to Henry and Anna (Hovde) Jorde. He lived all of his life in the Rushford and Peterson area. In his early years he worked as a milk hauler. He later became a farmer and spent the majority of his career as a carpenter. He married Norma Pruka at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hart, Minn. Harley was a member of the Rushford Lutheran Church, Peterson American Legion Post 526, and the V.F.W. in Rushford. His interests included woodworking, deer hunting, and taking rides in the country. Harley is survived by his wife Norma; two daughters: Dawn Jorde of Rushford, and Shelly Jorde of Winona; and four grandchildren: Amy, Greg, Marissa, and Miranda. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Harlan; and one sister, Maxine Tweten. There will be a memorial service for Harley at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 23, at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel with the Rev. Roger Michaelson officiating. Burial of his cremated body will be in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Hart, Minn. Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel.
