Hannah L. Spitzer, 87, of St. Charles died Wednesday evening April 26th at Whitewater Healthcare Center in St. Charles. Hannah was born June 25, 1918 in Lewiston to Charles and Lena (Olson) Fabian. She and Louie Spitzer were married on March 18, 1937 in St. Charles. The couple farmed in the St. Charles area until moving in to town in 1957. Louie died August 31, 1990. Hannah entered Whitewater Healthcare Center in 2002. She belonged to St. Matthew Lutheran Church in St. Charles and was active in Lady's Aid. Hannah also belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary and the St. Charles Senior Citizens. Survivors include two daughters, Darlene (Harold) Money of Auburn, GA and Helen (Jeff) Hirschey of Winona, a daughter-in-law Ruth Spitzer of St. Charles, nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to her husband Louie, Hannah was preceded in death by a son Kenneth, four grandchildren; Rick Pierce, Bradley Spitzer, Gary and Vicki Money, two brothers Alfred and Emil Fabian, a sister Thelma Schreiber and a daughter-in-law Joanne Spitzer. Funeral services will be 11AM Monday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in St. Charles with the Rev. Michael Hart officiating. Burial will follow services at Hillside Cemetery in St. Charles.
