Gregory Majerus

Gregory "Gregor" John Majerus, 86, of rural Altura died Monday evening April 26,2004 at Whitewater Healthcare Center in St. Charles. Gregor was born May 9, 1917 on the Rambrouch farm at Fisher Hill in WhitewaterTownship of Winona County to Nicholas and Margaret (Burbach) Majerus. He was theyoungest of ten children who have all preceded him in death. Gregor and RosalieElizabeth Gage were married on June 14, 1938 at St. Mary's Church at Minneiska. They had two sons, Gregory (John) Jr. and Nicholas Delbert. Gregor worked for H.Behrens manufacturing of Winona for many years before becoming a dairy farmer andraising turkeys. Rosalie died in 1995. He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Elba. Survivors include both sons, Gregory "John" Jr. (Janet Elizabeth) of Altura andNicholas Delbert (Mary Elizabeth) of Rochester, three granddaughters, DeborahColleen (Stephan) Knaup of Bloomington; Michelle Renee Majerus of Pekin, ND andNicole Renee (nicknamed "Charlie" by grandpa) of Altura. In addition to his wifeRosalie he was preceded in death by seven brothers and two sisters. There will be a Memorial Mass at 10 AM Friday at St. Aloysius Catholic Churchin Elba with the Rev. James Callahan officiating. Burial of Gregors crematedremains will be follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery in Elba. Friends may call onehour before services at the church. Hoff Funeral Home's - St. Charles Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
