Gregory Dean Thomas, 57 of Winona, died Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family.
Greg was born May 16, 1958 in Visalia, California to Jimmy and Helen (Gibson) Thomas. He graduated from Redwood High School. On March 29, 1980, Greg married the love of his life, Kim Burros. Greg was a very successful businessman; owning and operating, Johanson & Thomas Machine Shop which has been in his family for 58 years. In 2002, Greg & Kim moved their family to Winona where Greg began working at Fleet Farm.
He enjoyed sports of all kinds, from local teams to professional teams. Greg was also very active in Sprint Car Racing and motocross. He had a great sense of humor that will always be remembered by those who knew and loved him.
Greg is survived by his wife, Kim; three children, Mark (Amy Komperud), Shannon (Eric) Rain and Morgan (Patrick) McNally; three grandchildren, Kyler, Gavin & Dova; his mother, Helen Taylor; one sister, Terry Stone; father-in-law, Lee Burros; brother-in-law, Stuart Burros and sister-in-law, Lori (Mike) Shoultz.
Greg was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy and grandparents.
