Rushford, Granville B. Kjos, 90, of Rushford, died Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford. Granville was born December 7, 1920 in Peterson to Gerhard and Belida (Maland) Kjos. He graduated from Wraalstad Country School and Peterson High School. He then joined his family farming for his entire working life. He and E. Lorraine Prestemon were married in March of 1974 in Richfield. They moved in to a town home in Rushford in 2007. He had resided at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home on several occasions, most recently entering in August of 2010. Granville loved music and played in an instrumental trio with his father and uncle for many years. He was well known for singing at many funerals and weddings throughout the years. He was a life long member of Arendahl Lutheran Church, having served as church secretary for 20 years. Granville sang with the Winona Area Barber Shop Chorus and the Rochester Area Male Chorus. He had belonged to the Sons of Norway Lodge of Lanesboro. Granville was an accomplished wood worker and gardener. Survivors include his wife Lorraine and many cousins and friends. Funeral Services will be 1:30 PM Wednesday, January 26th at Arendahl Lutheran Church in rural Peterson with the Reverend Ronald Warnes officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 5-7 PM Tuesday at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in Rushford. They may also call one hour before services at the church.
