ST. CHARLESGrace Lorraine Sackreiter, 88 of St. Charles, died Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield.Grace Lorraine (Watts) Sackreiter was born May 13, 1926, to Samuel Cleveland and Grace Laveta (Anderson) Watts at St. Marys Hospital. She graduated from Saratoga Townhall School in 1940 and St. Charles High School in 1944. She attended the Minnesota University Farm Campus 2-1/2 years before marrying classmate Leon Sackreiter June 14, 1947. Together they farmed the Sackreiter Farms in Saratoga Township for 68 years.She enjoyed memberships in 4-H as a member and a leader, Order of Eastern Star, Royal Neighbors of America, St. Charles Senior Citizens and St. Charles United Methodist Church. Her family was the most important part of her life and having them home to cook for was always a highlight. She always put others before herself. Lorraine loved playing games and cards with all.Survivors include husband, Leon; six children, Rory (Larry) Ellsworth, Kerry Sackreiter, Lea (Donald) Sexton, Kent (Denise) Sackreiter, Kim (Sandy) Sackreiter, Kit (Jan) Sackreiter; 22 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and more to come.Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Phyllis (Richard) Sorenson, brother William Watts; grandson, Samuel Donald Sexton (son of Don and Lea Sexton), and great-grandson, Joseph Patrick Sackreiter (son of Carl and Janel Sackreiter); and step-brother, Ted Stockey.Memorial service will be held at 12pm, Friday, April 10, 2015 at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service in St. Charles with visitation starting at 10am.
