Gloria Maxine Salling died Monday, March 25, 2019 at Winona Health. She was born Hope Hawkins, August 6, 1927 in Aberdeen South Dakota. At age one day she was adopted by Edward and Inga Redetzke of Webster South Dakota and her name was changed to Gloria Redetzke.
Gloria grew up on a farm just outside of Webster and graduated from Webster High School. She attended Cosmetology school in Minneapolis where she met Chuck Deare. They married and had two daughters, Fawn and Laura, they were later divorced. In 1961 Gloria met and married Rolland (Rollie) Salling.
Gloria started in the floral business as a designer at a small florist on Chicago Ave and Chicago Floral and Greenhouse in Minneapolis and designed floral arrangements for over 25 years. After moving to Winona, MN in 1974, she worked at Siebrecht's Floral and Greenhouse, Dan's Flower Gallery and DJ Campus Floral, retiring in 1992. She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Winona, where she served on the Session, and Board of Deacons.
Gloria was survived by her husband Rollie, Granddaughter Tiffany Coggins (Tom Schultz), Great Grandson August (Gus) and Great Granddaughter Morgan, Brentwood, TN, and many loving Friends and acquaintances.
She was preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Ed and Inga, daughters Fawn and Laura Deare.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, March 31 at Grace Presbyterian Church, Winona. A visitation will held from 4-7 p.m., Saturday, March 30 at Hoff Celebration of Life Center, Goodview and one hour prior to the service at church.
