Gloria M. Hempfner

Winona, MN Gloria M. Hempfner, 80, of Winona, MN, died Sunday, March 8, 2009 at Lake Winona Manor in Winona, MN. Gloria was born on July 29, 1928 in Bay City, WI to Paul Carl and Lucy Drucilla (Nagle) Goetting. In 1952, she married Gerald Charles Hempfner and they later divorced. Gloria moved to Winona in 1966 where she worked at Leaf's Laundry and Watkins Home besides being a devoted mother to her five children. Gloria enjoyed music and her family. She played the guitar, accordion and the organ for various church events. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her three children, Philip (Tran) Hempfner of Albuquerque, NM; Ralph (Susan) Hempfner of Winona, MN; and Joan (Butch) Hornberg of Winona, MN, five grandchildren, Brandy (Gene) Frost of Winona, MN; Daniel (Kris) Hempfner of Mason City, IA; Heather (Lonny) Beckius of Albert Lea, MN; Kristina (Derek Freeman) Hempfner of Trempealeau, WI; and Jason (Alisa) Hornberg of Winona, MN, twelve great-grandchildren, Brianna, Kayla, Isaiah, Elijah, Jacob, Jordan, Parker, Tyler, Logan, Katie, Branden, and Jami, two brothers, Bob Goetting of Winona, MN and Roy (Jan) Goetting of CO; sister Lola (Ed) Krause of LaCrosse, WI; and several nieces and nephews. Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, infant son Daniel, son Ron, four brothers Glen, Lyle, Carl, and Gale Goetting and two sisters Beth and Fernie. The Funeral Service for Gloria will be held at 11:00am on Friday, March 13, 2009 at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Services - Hansen Goodview Chapel with the Reverend Brad Stadsvold officiating. Burial will follow at Silver Creek Cemetery in rural Houston, MN. Friends may call from 5-8pm on Thursday, March 12 at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Services - Hansen Goodview Chapel and also one hour prior to the service on Friday.
