Gloria Lynn Koetz, 54, of Plainview, Minnesota died on Friday, the 3rd of July, 2020, surrounded by her family at St. Mary's hospital. Gloria was born the 20th of June, 1966, in San Bernardino, California to Joe Serna and Nancy Palenick. As a child she moved to Mesa, Arizona with her mother. As a young woman, fate caused her to meet Chad Koetz while tubing down a river. They were swift to fall in love, and eagerly married in September of 1994 and started a family. For Gloria, there was no love as intense as that she held for her family. To raise her children was the centerpiece and greatest joy of her life. In 2013, Chad and Gloria moved north to Plainview, Minnesota. Gloria had a pull on her family that was felt by each of her children as they all moved near. Gloria provided customer service at Walmart in Rochester and enjoyed working as a means to come home to her family. Things that brought Gloria joy included her German Shepherds, fishing and camping, playing darts with Chad, starting fires with anything near her that could combust and checking on her chickens. Gloria was well known as a spitfire woman who was spontaneous, full of plans and opinions and the energy to make them happen and a love for everyone. Gloria could beat any challenge and would win any bet. As adults, her children knew she was happiest when her home was full of dogs and family. When referring to Chad she would say, "Oh, we are just fond of each other." Gloria is survived by her husband Chad, her four children; Zakk, Julia, Stephanie and Kalvin as well as her two grandchildren Alexander and Adalynn and her mother Nancy. A celebration of Gloria's life will be 1 pm Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in St. Charles, with Pastor Woody Roland of Autumn Ridge Church in Rochester presiding. Visitation will begin at 12 noon Thursday at the funeral home. Please share a memory of Gloria and view her video tribute at
