Gloria Marie Anderson (nee Haupt) went to be with her Lord and savior on Saturday, November 26, 2016 with her family by her side. She was born on July 12, 1929 to Herbert and Marie (Rodenburg) Haupt. She attended Houston High School until the 11th grade when she elected to move to Minneapolis and attend Paul's Hairdressing Academy. On September 17, 1949 she married the love of her life, Marlow Gene Anderson. They were married for 49 1/2 years. Together they farmed and raised a family of 5. Gloria also worked for Valley View Nursing Home for 26 years. She loved having her flower beds, a big garden every year and enjoyed canning and freezing. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, puzzles, quilting, traveling, cooking, and baking her grandkids chocolate chip cookies. Gloria was an active member of Looney Valley Lutheran Church where she felt like family. She will be greatly missed by her children, Dwayne of Caledonia, Steve of Winona, Gary of Houston, Cheryl of Winona, and Janell (Jeff) of Caledonia; grandchildren, Jaclyn (Rustin), Justine (Dylan), Jessica, Janessa, Nicole (Ryan), Derek, and Brooke; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Emma, Alexis, Sawyer, and Jaxtin; sister-in-law, Carmen Middendorf; and many nieces and nephews. Gloria is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers and sisters-in-law, Junior Middendorf, Eila (Lloyd) Burfield, Lydia (Virgil) Britson, and Arlene (James) Martin. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Looney Valley Lutheran Church with Reverend Jan King officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Hoff Funeral Service, Houston, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Swede Bottom Cemetery. Hoff Funeral Service, Houston, is assisting the family.
