WINONAGlenn Peter Brown, 57, lifelong Winona resident, died unexpectedly on Sunday, March 16, 2014 in Rollingstone.Glenn, best known by his friends as "Brownie," was born in Winona on September 16, 1956 to Glenn and Vivian (Wamhoff) Brown. He attended St. Matthew's grade school and junior high and graduated from Winona Senior High School in 1974. Glenn followed through on what he loved most, rebuilding and working with his hands. Glenn was united in marriage to Renee Bade; together they raised a daughter, Tiffany. Renee passed away. He was later married to Susan Loftness in November 1987 and had two children, Jake and Caitlin. Though they were divorced in 2007, Glenn and Susan remained close friends. He later began dating the light of his life and partner-in-crime, Karen Resch. They enjoyed watching sporting games and spending time outdoors. Glenn and Karen had a bright and promising future together and he will be forever missed. He worked for Bay State Milling for over 19 years and was previously employed by Winona Paint and Glass. After which, Glenn worked for Performance Marine & Machine. Outside of his profession, Glenn was an avid member of the Winona Eagles Club.A true outdoorsman, Glenn enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and spending time on the river, which he knew like the back of his hand. He was chivalrous, dependable, a great listener and an even better conversationalist. He hugged sincerely, loved genuinely, and always wore his heart on his sleeve. He loved playing softball, cheering for Minnesota sports teams, and listening to "tunes" like Metallica, Johnny Cash, Neil Young, and Queen, to name a few. He was a good dad, grandpa, and teacher.He is survived by his three children, Tiffany Roellich of Winona, Jake Brown of Winona, and Caitlin Brown of Winona; three grandchildren, Mya Roellich, Stentin Roellich, and Lincoln Nelson; sisters, Jeanine Husser, Connie (Jed) Hagadorn, and Kimberly (Rick) Rockwell; his everlovin' Karen Resch of Winona; lifelong friend and neighbor, Kim Selke; former wife, Susan Loftness-Brown; and several nieces and nephews. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Daryl Brown; and first wife, Renee Brown.A celebration to honor Glenn's life will be held from 3-6pm on Thursday, March 20 at the Eagle's Club in Winona, which is exactly what he would have wanted.
