Glen H. Richter, 63, of rural St. Charles, died Sunday, February 15, 2009 at his home. He was born February 28, 1945 in Rochester to Howard and Bernice (Patterson) Richter. He attended Dover School and graduated from St. Charles High School in 1963. He attended Austin Vo-Tech and served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1966 - 1971. Glen and Janet Boldt were married May 13, 1967 in Rochester. They moved to St. Charles in 1977 to farm the Patterson/ Papenfus family farm. Glen also worked as a test engineer for IBM, retiring in 2002. He enjoyed fishing and going to coffee with the guys. Survivors include his wife, Janet, four children, Jeanine Richter of St. Charles, Michael (Amy) Richter of Rice Lake, WI, Gregory Richter of Bloomington and Kristen Richter of Bishkek, Kyrgyzsten, three grandchildren: Emily, Megan and Thomas, his mother, Bernice Richter of St. Charles, three brothers; Allen (Lois) Richter of Nevada, Missouri, Lyman (Julaine) of Spring Valley and Brian (Susan) Richter of Bloomington. He was preceded in death by his father Howard in 1988. Funeral Services will be 11AM Friday at Calvary Baptist Church in Chatfield with Pastor Randy Charlton officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in St. Charles. Friends may call from 5 - 8 PM Thursday at Hoff Funeral Home in St. Charles. They may also call one hour before services at the church.
