HOFF FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICE, RUSHFORD, MN 507-864-7771PETERSON, MINN. - Glen E. Johnson, 79 of rural Peterson, Minn. died on Thursday, September 03, 2015, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford, Minn. Glen was born on June 3, 1936, on the home farm in rural Peterson, to Johnnie E. and Selma (Engebretson) Johnson. He was raised in rural Peterson and attended the Diamond Creek Country School. He graduated from Peterson High School in 1954. Glen served in the U.S. Army as a tank commander from July of 1955 to July of 1957. On September 22, 1962, Glen was united in marriage to Connie Eberling at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cresco, Iowa. He lived all of his life in rural Peterson where he farmed until 1984. He worked for Roverud Construction from 1984, until his retirement in 2003. He was a member of Highland Prairie Lutheran Church in rural Peterson. Glen enjoyed playing cards, talking Norwegian, visiting with family and friends and especially listening to and dancing to old-time polka music. Glen is survived by four children: Marcia (Brian) Ferson of Stewartville, Minn., Linda Noack of Plymouth, Minn., Bruce (Kristie) Johnson of Minneapolis, Minn., and Janell (Dan) Schefers of Rochester, Minn.; special friend, Mary Dumphy of Rushford, Minn.; and 13 grandchildren: Nick, Lindsey, Miranda, Nicole, Zach, Tyler, Chelsey, Tyler, Paige, Blake, Jaden, Jake, and Gracie. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife in 2008, and a sister, Eleanor Klungtvedt. The funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 6, 2015, at Highland Prairie Lutheran Church in rural Peterson, with the Rev. Marie Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the Highland Prairie Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 5, at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in Rushford, and one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the church.Leave a memory of Glen, and sign his online guestbook at
