Glen Ardell Sveen a�" Lanesboro a�" Glen Ardell Sveen, 76, of rural Lanesboro died of cancer Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at home. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Whalan Lutheran Church with the Rev. Patricia Hinkle officiating. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Johnson-Riley Funeral Home in Lanesboro and also an hour before the service at the church. Mr. Sveen was born April 12, 1937, in Whalan to Irven and Fernanda (Skalet) Sveen. He graduated from Lanesboro High School and married Charlene LaVelle Hongerholt on June 29, 1957, in Highland. She died May 6, 2005. He was a farmer, and he and his wife worked in a factory in Rushford. He was a lifelong member of Whalan Lutheran Church. He enjoyed four-wheeling, an annual non-biker trail ride, car races, casinos, card playing, ball games and tractor pulls. He is survived by one son, Jamie (Stephanie) Sveen of Rochester; four daughters, Cindy (Mark) Johnson of Peterson, Cheryl (Rocky) Elton of Stewartville, Patricia (Randy) Banks of Cresco, Iowa, and Gina (Travis) Lange of St. Charles; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one brother, Duane Sveen of Lanesboro; one sister, Linda (Doug) Johnson of Lanesboro; and special friend, Norma Jorde. He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Jerry; one brother, Earl Sveen; and twin granddaughters
