Perry LeRoy Miller, 90, and Gertrude Almira Miller, 87, longtime Rochester residents died at Whitewater Healthcare Center in St. Charles. Perry died Monday afternoon April 10th and Gertrude died Tuesday morning April 11th. Perry was born June 16, 1915 in Viola of Olmsted County to Gustave Walter and Wealthie Grace (Dushek) Miller. Gertrude was born February 13, 1919 in Whalan, Fillmore County, MN to Andrew Anderson and Gena Turnia (Pierce) Evjen. The couple were married on December 10, 1935 in Plainview. The couple made their home in Rochester until recently moving to Whitewater Healthcare Center in St. Charles. In Rochester Perry owned and operated Miller Car Exchange, which later became Miller Toyota, retiring in 1974. He was a member of St. Charles Moose Lodge and belonged to the Rochester Eagles Club. Gertrude was a homemaker, she enjoyed cooking and caring for her family and had been a member of Zumbro Lutheran Church. They are survived by their three daughters, Gladys (David) Hammel of Elba; Robin (Patrick) Miller Kroening and Valerie (Allyn) Heim both of St. Charles, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, 5 nieces and 12 nephews. Perry is also survived by a sister Willa Bierbaum of Eyota and was preceded in death by a grandson Randy Heim and an infant brother Laverne Miller. Gertrude is also survived by a sister Verna Haugen of Lanesboro and a sister-in-law Myranda Evjen of Rochester. She was preceded in death by her grandson Randy Heim and two brothers, Carl and Raymond Evjen. Funeral Services will be 11AM Thursday at Hoff Funeral Home's-St. Charles Chapel with Funeral Celebrant John Wagenaar officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery near Viola. A reception will follow at the St. Charles Moose Lodge. Friends may call from 5-8 PM Wednesday and one hour before services Thursday at Hoff Funeral Home's - St. Charles Chapel.
