Steinfeldt, 74, of Houston, Minn. died on Wednesday, October 20, 2010, at Gundersen - Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, Wis. She was born on May 21, 1936, to Fred and Minnie (Thompson) Unnasch in Mound Prairie Township of Houston County, Minn. She married Rolland Steinfeldt on April 19, 1952, in Nodine, Minn. Geraldine was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Ridgeway, Minn. She was known for her seamstress abilities as well as her doll collections. She loved music and enjoyed playing the piano and accordion. Geraldine enjoyed planting trees, growing flowers and living with her tabby cat. She farmed with Rolland for many years on South Ridge and later retired and moved to Houston. She is survived by four children: Jeff (Pat) Steinfeldt of Dakota, Minn., Randy (Kit) Steinfeldt of Houston, Minn., Ruth and Rachel Steinfeldt of Winona, Minn.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Eleanor Steinfeldt of Houston, Minn.; one brother-in-law, Art Erdmann of LaCrescent, Minn.; three sisters-in-law, Charlotte Unnasch of Houston, Florence Bublitz of Winona, and Mardel Unnasch of LaCrosse, Wis. Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband Rolland; five sisters: Bernice Johnson, Harriet Papenfuss-Sebo, Marion Paulson-Winsky, Dorothy Kinstler and Mildred Erdmann; two brothers: Alfred and Arden Unnasch; three sisters-in-law: Dorothy Frauenkron, Dorma Steinfeldt, and Anita Steinfeldt; and eight brothers-in-law: Ed Steinfeldt, Paul Steinfeldt, Emil Steinfeldt, Russell Bublitz, Emmett Frauenkron, Clifford Paulson, Frank Johnson and Art Papenfuss. The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 25, at Grace Lutheran Church in Ridgeway, Minn. with the Rev. Anthony Straseske officiating. Burial will be in the Bush Cemetery in Ridgeway. Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in Houston and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
