Altura, Gerald W. "Jerry" Dotterwick, 83, of Altura died Thursday morning, September 24th at his home. Jerry was born April 23, 1932 in Winona to Fred and Florence (Knopick) Dotterwick. He graduated from Winona High School then served in the U. S. Army, stationed in Korea. On April 26, 1958 Jerry and Kay Kindt were married in Winona. They lived in Minnesota City until moving to Elba in 1972. Jerry worked as a press operator for J.R. Watkins Company before founding Lazy D Campground near Elba. He loved to fish and hunt moose in Canada and hunt Elk in Colorado and enjoyed his annual hunting trips. Jerry and Kay spent many days riding horse back with their friends at Circle H Trails. Airedale Terrier were his favorite, having had several dogs over the years. He also often found time to join the gang for coffee at the Elba House. Survivors include his wife Kay, two sons, Brian (Nancy) Dotterwick of Chatfield and Fred Dotterwick of Peterson, two granddaughters, Heather and Shannon and his two sisters, Doris "Dorie" Hayner of Stillwater and Carol Snidarsic of Winona. He was preceded in death by his parents. A private family burial will take place at Valley Home Cemetery near Elba. Please share a memory at Jerry's on-line registry at
