Gerald "Jerry" R. Noeska, 82 of Winona, passed away at St. Anne Extended Healthcare on Monday, January 8, 2018.
Jerry was born May 6, 1935 in Winona to Rudolph and Arletta (Linander) Noeska. Jerry attended the Pleasant Valley Country School. He decided he wanted to farm with his father and learned all he needed to know about farming from his "Pa." Jerry took over running the farm when he lost his father in 1964. After several years, he decided he needed to get out more and went to work at Badger Foundry working nights and farming days. He retired from farming and sold the farm in 2004. Jerry worked at Badger until he was 78 years old and retired September 2013.
Jerry enjoyed square dancing and playing "500" with the Pleasant Valley Card Club. He attended many farm shows, enjoying the company of his friend Art Noeske. If you attended the Pleasant Valley School Reunion, you would have heard Jerry auctioning off baskets. He went to many farm auctions with his dad and taught himself the auctioneer's "song." Jerry joined the National Guard in 1957 at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. He then stayed in the reserves for six years.
Jerry is survived by his sister, Rita (Larry) Wieczorek and several nieces and nephews and three great-nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, John & Gene Noeska and sister, Kathrene Benter.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Friday, January 12, 2018 at Hoff Celebration of Life Center - Goodview, led by Funeral Celebrant Ashley Czaplewski. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m., until the time of the service. Memorials are preferred to the Winona County Humane Society.
