Gerald A. Gravos, 69, of Rushford, died Monday, January 6, 2002, at his home. Gerald was born on June 1, 1933, to Palmer and Myrtle (Paulson) Gravos in LaCrosse, Wis. He was raised in the Highland Prairie area and graduated from Rushford High School in 1951. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959. Gerald married Lillian Luhmann on June 16, 1957, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hart, Minn. He worked at Northern States Power for 32 years, retiring in 1991. His work as a part-time farmer was his passion. Gerald and Lillian moved from there farm in Bratsberg to Rushford in December of 2000. He was a member of the Highland Prairie Lutheran Church in rural Peterson. Gerald is survived by his wife Lillian, his aunts and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 9, at Highland Prairie Lutheran Church in rural Peterson with the Rev. Wade Davick officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Hoff Funeral Homes –Rushford Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. The family prefers memorials to be directed to the ALS Association Minnesota Chapter.
