Georgia Pauline Kalstabakken

Georgia Pauline Kalstabakken, 97, of Mazeppa, died Friday, April 3, 2015, at Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island, where she had resided since January.

Georgia Pauline Goings was born Sept. 17, 1917, to George and Carrie (Henry) Goings in Chatfield. She married Raymond Kalstabakken on Oct. 23, 1933, they had four children, Marvel Myron, Merlin Francis, Dona Mae and Dale Craig. The family farmed in the Fountain area until 1959, when they moved to Rochester. They moved to Stewartville in 1972. Georgia worked as a cook and waitress in restaurants and at Seneca Canning Factory. She was an L.P.N. at the State Hospital for 15 years before retiring.

Georgia is survived by one son, Dale (Arliene) Kalstabakken of Pine Island; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, two sons, her husband, two brothers and six sisters.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, at Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield, with Pastor Dave Possing officiating. Burial will be in Root Prairie Lutheran Cemetery in Fountain. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
