Genevieve Anne Lange

St. Charles, Genevieve Anne "Gen" Lange, 85 of St. Charles died Thursday evening, December 1, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. Gen was born January 3, 1926 in Winona to William and Katherine (Zeches) Garry. She and Walter Lange were married July 19, 1947 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winona. They made their home in Havre, Montana until moving to St. Charles in 1952. Gen worked with Walter at Lange Tire in St. Charles and raised their 11 children. She enjoyed sewing, reading and traveling, especially her many trips to Jamaica, the Holy Land and Europe. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church; Rosary Society, St. Rita's Unit and taught Religious Education. She had also been involved in Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts Curves and St. Charles Homemakers. Survivors include her husband Walter, ten children; Gary (Vicky) Lange of Trempealeau, WI, Rich (Lana) Lange of St. Charles, Chris Lange of Rochester, Sue (Jim) Wendt of St. Charles, John Lange of Kasson, David (Koni) Lange of Hastings, Dan (Deb) Lange of St. Charles, Heidi (Charlie) Bartz of Plainview, Mary (Bruce) Kohn of St. Charles and Julie (Dan) Buehler of Altura, 30 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Robert (Margaret) Garry of Sunnyvale, CA and James Garry of Winona and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son Stephen and a brother William. A Funeral Mass to celebrate Gen's life will be at 11AM on Wednesday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with the Reverend Kurt Farrell officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church from 4-8PM on Tuesday and one hour before services on Wednesday.
