Gary Allan Simenson

February 7, 1936 — August 29, 2017

Gary Allan Simenson, 81, of Chatfield, died August 29, 2017, surrounded by family at Seasons Hospice House in Rochester.

Gary was born February 7, 1936 in Decorah, Iowa to Earl and Beatha (Renaas) Simenson. He graduated from Decorah High School in 1954.  He then went into the Navy and served 4 years. On October 12, 1960 he married Ann Paige Indvick in Rochester, MN.

Gary hobbies included travel, fishing, and visiting casinos. He also was an avid Twins baseball fan. He worked as a computer programmer for several local businesses including International Transport, Keane Incorporated, and IBM.

Gary is survived by three daughters: Cindy Feeser of Caledonia, Lori (Steve) Winter of Wykoff, & Shari (Joe) Fischer of Rochester;  two sons: Jody of Chatfield, Jon (Maria) of Stewartville.  12 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. His brother Richard, of Rochester also survives.

He is preceded in death by his parents and wife Ann in 2014.

A Memorial Service with Rev. Carol Shaffer of Seasons Hospice officiating, will be be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 5th at Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

A Committal Service with Military Honors will follow on Tuesday at 3:00 PM at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston.
