Gary Oevering, 54, of Stockton, MN, died Sunday, October 1, 2017 at his home. Gary was born April 9, 1963 in Winona to Jack and Judith (Barnholtz) Oevering. He grew up in Stockton and was known for being dressed to the nines. He loved his bonfires even though the tree over his fire pit may not have. Whenever there was mischief you could bet Gary had a hand in it. He also had a loving side only those closest to him saw. He loved his children and his grandchildren especially. You could say they had him wrapped around their little fingers. Six years ago, he met Cory Gragg in Stockton and the two began dating. They had a wonderful time together as she had a knack for putting up with his long-winded stories.
He worked for Equality Diecast, Lee Henry, Tim Bronk and was a jack of all trades.
Gary is survived by his fiancé, Cory Gragg; children, Jack (Kara) Nelsestuen, Brittany (Jamie) Brown, Shelby (Jordan) Brand, Jeremy (Ashley) Prigge; grandchildren, Lybbi, Brayden, Olivia, Jaxson, Maxwell; mother, Judith Oevering; siblings, Daryl (Sara) Oevering, Suzanne Maul, Jodi Wise and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Jack.
A celebration of life will be held from 11-1 with a service at 1PM on Thursday, October 5 at Hoff Celebration of Life Center, Goodview. Celebrant Jenny Hoff will be leading the service.
