Gary J. Jonsgaard

Gary J. Jonsgaard, 66, died Thursday, October 30, 2008, in his home in Winona, MN, with his family by his side. Gary was born August 17, 1942, in Winona, MN, to Joseph and Lela (Edwards) Jonsgaard. Gary married Patricia Jewel and were later divorced. Gary married Carol Maliszewski in Winona, MN. Gary had worked for Peerless Chain and had owned and operated the Link-Between Bar in Winona. Gary also drove truck for 43 years driving for several companies including Stan Ferguson, H.C. Christianson, Duke Schultz, Gilbertson Trucking, Winona Excavating, Ashley, and Pehler Trucking. Gary enjoyed camping, golfing, playing cards and spending time with family, friends and his favorite dog, Buddy.Surviving Gary is Carol; six children, Bill (Sandy Peterson) Jonsgaard of Winona, MN, Terri (Dale) Runge of Shakopee, MN, Robert L. (Jo Ann) Jonsgaard of Winona, MN, Jo-Dee Jonsgaard of Winona, MN, Karen (Dale) Filand of Winona, MN and Tammy (Dan Tlougan) Frey of Winona, MN; 14 grandchildren, Jason Jonsgaard, Waylon Jonsgaard, Jesse Jonsgaard, Angel Jonsgaard, Scott Runge, Jake Runge, Dennis Halverson, Jessica Jonsgaard, Jenna Sefkow, Josh Filand, Jake Filand, Brandon Frey, Jordan Frey and Troy Frey; 16 great grandchildren, Payton, Dillion, Katie, Kailee, Abigail, Dylan, Peyton, Christian, Brayden, Mikayla, Arzo, Jada, Preston, Austin, Rebecca and Brooke; and three brothers, Robert A. (Rosie) Jonsgaard of Minnesota City, MN, Dale (Diane) Jonsgaard of Rushford, MN and Gerald (Lynn) Jonsgaard of Aurora, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 3, 2008, at 11:00am at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service Hansen Goodview Chapel with Thomas Schoen officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
