PETERSON, MINN. - Frederick "Fritz" P. Eide, 88, of Peterson, died Saturday, January 3, 2004, at Gundersen - Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse, Wis. He was born on May 22, 1915, on the family farm in Grover, Minn. to Gilbert and Julia (Dahl) Eide. Fritz grew up in Grover and attended Grover School and Boyum School through the eighth grade. On December 8, 1944 Fritz married Wanda Johnson at the Lutheran Parsonage in Peterson. Fritz was a dairy farmer and a turkey farmer in the Peterson area for many years. He thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Fritz was an easy going man, who loved telling stories, visiting with friends and most of all spending time with his family. He was a lifetime member of North Prairie Lutheran Church where he was baptized and confirmed. Fritz is survived by his wife, Wanda; two sons: David (Theone) Eide of Utica, Minn. and Donald (Diane) Eide of Peterson, Minn.; one daughter, Julie (James Stevens) Eide of Rushford; four grandchildren: Nathan, Kristin, Danessa, and Dalton; and one sister Clara Bremmer of Rushford. He was preceded in death by four brothers: Gilman, Julian, Carl, and Milford; and three sisters: Olga, Evelyn, and Emma. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7, at North Prairie Lutheran Church in rural Lanesboro, Minn. with the Rev. Ronald Warnes and the Rev. Janet Warnes officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel, where there will be a 7:30 p.m. prayer service, and also one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
