Frank L. Balcome

Frank L. Balcome, 79, died Friday, January 30, 2004 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. Frank was born May 18, 1924 in Chatfield, MN to Leslie and Tidal (Baier) Balcome. On March 18, 1967 he married Shirley Ryan. Frank worked 40 years for Patterson Quarries. He had also farmed with his dad and hauled corn for Bedtke Bros. Frank was a devoted husband and wonderful grandpa who loved to work especially mowing lawn in summer and moving snow in the winter. Frank was a member of the Moose Lodge in St. Charles. Survivors include his wife, Shirley, four children, Robert (Jan) Eckles of Black River Falls, WI, Elizabeth (Roy) Adam of Winter, CA, William (Pati) Eckles of St. Charles, MN and Loren (Deb) Balcome of St. Charles, MN; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Bertha (Delon) Ackerman of Stewartville, MN, Barbara (Otto) Wondrasch of Rochester, MN, Lilas Reiman of Marion, MN and Sherry (Roger) Connaughty of Goodview, MN; one brother, Lewis (Marie) Balcome of St. Charles, MN; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandchild, brother, Lloyd and sister, Mavis.A Funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday, February 5, 2004 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with the Rev. James Callahan officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester, MN. Friends may call on Wednesday at Hoff Funeral Homes ? St. Charles Chapel from 4-8:00pm and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
