Francis A. Lehnertz, 76, of Route 1, Rollingstone, Minn. died Sunday, May 4, 2003, at Gundersen - Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse. Wis. Francis was born on March 6, 1927, in Rollingstone to Edmund and Leona (Hayertz) Lehnertz. He was raised in Rollingstone where he graduated from Holy Trinity Catholic School. Francis married Patricia Meier on June 18, 1949. They had nine children together and were later divorced. Francis was a Rollingstone area farmer for all of his career. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Rollingstone, the St. Nicholas and St. Theresa Council of the Catholic Aide Society, and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. His life revolved around his family and his farm. Francis enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening, bowling, spending time at the Benedictine Day Center, and traveling to see his out of state children and grandchildren. Francis will be remembered for his smile and his great sense of humor. He is survived by four daughters: Linda (Lloyd) Kreidermacher of Altura, Minn., Barbara (Jon) Albert of Boulder, Colo., Cindy (Randy) Laumb of Graham, Wash., and Nancy Schley of Mitchell, S.D.; three sons: Bob Lehnertz of Tacoma, Wash., Pete (Leslie) Lehnertz of Rollingstone, Minn., and Danny (Wendy) Lehnertz of Winona, Minn.; 22 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Eugene (Arlene) Lehnertz, Plainview, Minn. Charles (Rita) Lehnertz of Winona, Minn.; three sisters: Annabelle Plein of Altura, Minn., Rosemary (Donald) Speltz of Rollingstone, and Catherine (Robert) Lewis of Pleasant Hill, Cal; and by nieces and nephews. Francis was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, Debra and Mary Patricia, and two brothers, Edward and Gerald.
