Frances O. Brinkman

Frances ”Sis” Brinkman, 93, formerly of Altura, died Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Lewiston Senior Living.

Frances was born November 8, 1931 in Wabasha to Henry and Regina (Schuth) Ahlers. She and Robert H. Brinkman were married September 30, 1947 at St. Felix Catholic Church in Wabasha. They made their home and raised their 13 children in Winona County. 

Raising and caring for her family was most important mission in her life. As her children grew, she later worked at Winona Knitting Mills for more than 30 years. 

Frances is survived by her 13 children, Ruth TePoel (Orie Kehren); Jan (Walt) Cordes; Jim (Kathy) Brinkman; Dianne (Bob) Oebser; John (Lorraine) Brinkman; Connie (James) Hoeft; Jeff (Terry) Brinkman; Donna (Dean) Sanders; Jay (Sandy) Brinkman; Mary (Jon) Engen; Bud (Denise) Brinkman; Dee Dee Brinkman; and Joe (Janet) Brinkman, 24 grandchildren, and 39 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Brinkman, son-in-law, Jim Hoeft, great-granddaughter, Kyla Elaine Sanders, brothers; Joseph (Alta), John (Marcella), Herman (Betty), and Walt (Doris), sisters; Margaret (Les) Marston, Helen (Ralph) Lindgren, Doretta (James) Smith, and Lucy (Patrick) Sexton, and in-laws, Norman (Rose) Brinkman.

A Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in St. Charles with the Reverend Jonathan Fasnacht officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery at Oak Ridge at Altura. Visitation will be at the church, 4-7 p.m. Monday and 10 – 11 a.m. Tuesday.
