Frances Belle Stevens

Lanesboro, Minn. - Frances Belle Stevens, 84, of rural Lanesboro died peacefully on Saturday, September 23, at her home after a short battle with cancer. Frances was born on October 6, 1921, to Dr. J.E. and Esther Stinehart in Mason City, Iowa. She married Adell "Steve" Stevens on February 1, 1942. They farmed in Iowa before moving to Minnesota in 1955, where they had farmed and raised 8 children. Frances is survived by her husband, Steve; children: Jean (Marv) Slafter, Doug Stevens, Chris Riggle, Russ (Kim) Stevens, Janet Stevens, Sonja (Bill Sims) Stevens, and Karen (Steve) Thorson. Fran was preceded in death by her parents, brother sister, one son, Wesley, and one son-in-law, Tim Riggle. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 27, at North Prairie Lutheran Church in rural Lanesboro, Minn. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel.
