WINONAFlorence Chartier Sand, 97, of Winona died Friday, January 2, 2015 at the Sterling House surrounded by four generations of family.Florence was born February 15, 1917 in Sampson, WI to Henry and Jessie (Fuller) Dietzler. She graduated from Shawano High School in Wisconsin and later from Teachers College in Rice Lake, WI. Florence was united in marriage to Roger Chartier and later William Sand. In her earlier years, she was a school teacher, owned and operated Northern Café in Rice Lake. After leaving Rice Lake, she moved to Winona and her youngest son Terry was born. She also spent time living in Green Bay, WI where she became an avid Packer fan. While living in Glenwood City, WI she owned and operated the Glenwood City Green House. Florence enjoyed her retirement years spending time on her son's farm in rural Glenwood City and traveling to Texas for many years during the winter.Florence was a Green Bay Packer Fan and had season tickets. She enjoyed gardening, playing bingo, cards, and puzzles. Florence was also a volunteer and a clown at a hospital in Texas.She is survived by her daughter, Marcia (Darrell) Russeau of Winona; son, Terry (Kristy) Sand of Amery, WI; son-in-law, Donald Larson of Winona; daughter-in-law, Donna Chartier of Winona; grandchildren, Todd (Connie) Russeau, Mike (Jane) Russeau, Kim (Bud) Hackbarth, Shawn Mrozek, Mark (Cammie) Larson, Scott (Ann) Larson, Tracy Larson, Stephanie Larson, Chad (Christene) Chartier, Shelly (Drew) Grafton, Roger Chartier, and Diane (nee Chartier) Hagedorn; 28 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren. Florence was preceded in death by her parents; spouses, Roger Chartier and William Sand; son, Ronald Chartier; daughter, Karen (nee Chartier) Larson; grandson, Kevin Chartier; and sisters, Gertrude, Celia, and Edna; and brother, Marlin.Memorial service will be 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Hoff Celebration of Life Center in Goodview with visitation one hour prior. Reverend Mary Beth Scow of Glen Hills Parish United Methodist Church in Glenwood City will officiate.
