Florence A. Verdick

Florence A. Verdick, 91, died Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at Lake Winona Manor in Winona, MN. Florence was born August 2, 1917, in Winona, MN, to Julius and Elizabeth Engler. She married Theodore Verdick in Winona on September 27, 1939, and he preceded her in death in September of 1981. Florence had worked for Winona Knitting Mills and also had worked as a housekeeper for Winona County Abstract and Holiday Inn in Winona. Florence was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and the Red Hatters Club. Florence enjoyed cooking, baking, traveling and listening to the radio.Survivors include her two daughters, Beverly (Darrell) Hundorf and Patricia (Don) Nelson both of Winona, MN; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Hazel Neeck, Pearl Nogosek and Violet Broberg all of Winona. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ted, four brothers, Harold, Bernard, Lloyd and John and two sisters, Ruth and Helen.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 18th, at 10:00am at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service Hansen Goodview Chapel with the Reverend Thomas Hargesheimer officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Winona. Friend may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
