Faustino "Tino" Moreno Alvarez, 46 of Utica, died Monday, June 18, 2012 from injuries sustained in a car accident. Tino was born December 1, 1965 to Gabino Alvarez Ramirez and Celia Moreno Gomez in Mexico City, Mexico. Tino attended the National College of Education Professional Tech in Mexico City in 1988, where he studied Civil Engineering. He then furthered his education at Southeast Tech in Winona in 1996 where he studied welding and RCTC in 2003 where he became an auto mechanic. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Lewiston. Tino worked at Hubbard Foods in Altura in the early 1990's, Jim's Truck and Trailer in Winona from 1996 - 2000, and then worked at Crenlo in Rochester from 2000-2002. He also worked at Mueller Auto Works in St. Charles as an auto mechanic from 2003-2009 and most recently, was employed by the Minnesota Department of Transportation. Tino also had his own mechanic shop in his garage.July 16, 1994, Tino married Kimberly Ann Burt of Utica. In his spare time, he enjoyed mechanic work, dancing, music, telling stories and most importantly, spending time with his family and friends.Tino is survived by his wife, Kimberly; children, Heather (Denton) Wirt of Lewiston, Ricardo, Mariana and Liliana all at home; grandchildren, Dayton & Bently Wirt; parents, Gabino Alvarez Ramirez and Celia Moreno De Alvarez; sisters, Rosita Alvarez Moreno and Blanca Alvarez (Kerm) Burt; brothers-in-law, Kenny (Patty) Burt, Kevin (Diane) Burt, Kyle (DeAnn) Burt; sisters-in-law, Kristie (Gene) Burt and Keri Burt; father and mother in-law, Merlin "Bozy" and JoAnn Burt; very close nieces, Jessica Airaly Alvarez and Alejandra Penflor Alvarez; and many other nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Faustino Alvarez and Longina Ramirez; maternal grandparents, Pascual Moreno and Lucina Gomez.Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m., Saturday, June 23, 2012 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Lewiston with the Reverend Kurt Farrell officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in St. Charles. Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m., Friday, June 22 at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service - St. Charles and one hour prior to Mass at church.
