Evleyn R. Stoffel

Winona, MNEvelyn R. Stoffel, 91, died Saturday, December 3, 2005 at Alterra Sterling Home in LaCrosse, WI. Evelyn was born November 13, 1914 in Cooks Valley, WI to Jacob and Rose (Huettner) Pecha. She married Peter Stoffel on September 29, 1947 in Champaign, IL. He later died August 23, 1997. Evelyn had worked for Sears in Chippewa Fall, WI and when in Winona was a bookkeeper for Burke's Furniture and Burke Funeral Home for many years. Evelyn was a 50 year active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church belonging to the Rosary Society and Quilting Guild. Evelyn is lovingly remembered for her love of family, being a great cook, love to read and play cards, and being an avid Twins and Packer fan.Survivors include her two children, Thomas (Ronda) Stoffel of Arpin, WI and Karen (David) Lange of LaCrosse, WI; grandchildren, Todd (Heather) Stoffel and their children, Nathan and Kendra of Marathon City, WI, Kyle (Melissa) Stoffel and their child Davin of Grand Rapids, MI, Deidre (Dan Bradford) Stoffel of Madison, WI, Andrea and Ryan Lange of LaCrosse, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Richard and sister, Anna.A Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday, December 7, 2005 at noon at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Reverend William Becker officiating. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Winona. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
