Lewiston, Evelyn Mary Ann Heublein, 89, of Rochester and formerly of Lewiston died Tuesday evening at Meadow Lakes Senior Living in Rochester. Evelyn was born April 1, 1925 in Galesville, WI to Albert and Minnie Gilboe. In 1944 Evelyn and Avery Heublein were married and moved to their farm home in rural Lewiston. Evelyn loved farming the land with Avery. They enjoyed polka music, dancing and traveling. She was an excellent cook, baker and gardener, and enjoyed entering her baked goods and flowers in the Winona County Fair. Evelyn also liked to weave rugs with her loom that her father had made years ago. She was an avid scrabble player and shared that love with her family. Evelyn was a member of St. Paul's Church in Lewiston. Survivors include her three daughters; Betty (Dr. Gary) Cassel of Wenatchee, WA, Mary (John) Botten of Winona and Carol (Ron) Clexton of River Falls, WI, five grandchildren; Julie, Amy, Erin, Emily and Jason and her nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Avery in 2012. In accordance with Evelyn's wishes a graveside service will be held in the spring. The date has been set for Saturday, May 9th at 2PM at Lewiston Public Cemetery. A time of fellowship and memory sharing will follow at St. Paul's Church in Lewiston.
