Evelyn Leona Prigge

Evelyn Leona Prigge, 91, of Lewiston came home to her Savior Saturday February 2, 2008 at Lake Winona Manor in Winona. She was born May 9, 1916 in Good Thunder, MN to William and Pauline (Heitner) Bartsch, where she lived until moving to Lewiston in 1937. On December 3, 1939 Evelyn and Gerhardt C. Prigge were married at St. John Lutheran Church in Good Thunder. She worked at Camera Art of Lewiston for 15 years. Evelyn was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lewiston and the Lutheran Women Missionary Society. Evelyn enjoyed quilting, playing cards, traveling and collecting dolls and ceramic shoes. She spent many years volunteering at the Lewiston Villa. Her husband Gerhardt died December 23, 1982.She is survived by four children; Charles W. (Nancy) Prigge of North St. Paul, Roger (Sherry) Prigge of Phoenix, AZ, Carolyn (Allyn) Janikowski of Lewiston and John R. (Keri) Prigge of Lewiston, 11 grandchildren, one step grandchild, 10 great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Rosella Bartsch of Hobbs, NM and Irene (Robert) Dorothy of Bismark, ND, many nieces and nephews and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters and three brothers.Funeral Services will be 1:30 PM Wednesday at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Lewiston with the Reverends David Fischer and Michael Lindemann officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
