Eunice L. McLeod

Eunice P. McLeod, 92, of Lewiston died Monday morning July 10, 2006 at the Lewiston Villa. Eunice was born October 9, 1913 in Elizabeth Town, IL to Claus and Elsie (Draves) Drewes. She graduated from Winona High School in 1931 and later from Winona State College. She married Ray M. Iverson in June of 1938, he died May 5, 1980. She and L. Donald McLeod were married on May 14, 1983 and made their home in Lewiston. Eunice was a teacher. She later worked as a Secretary for Freisinger-Stuckert Insurance Co. of LaCrosse for 20 years. From 1977-1983 she was a Clerk and Treasurer for the City of Dakota. She was a licensed Minnesota Insurance Agent, a Notary Public and had taught shorthand at Coleman Technical School. She was also a Winona County Home Extension historian. Eunice was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and it's Missionary Circle in Lewiston ;Order of the Eastern Star Pickwick Chapter 191 for more than 50 years and a Past Matron; American Legion Auxiliary past-president, the Clyde Royal Neighbors of American, LaCrosse Business Professional Women's Club and it's past local and district president; Lewiston Homemakers; Berean Bible Study Club; S.E.M.C.A.C.s 'Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Retired Educators of SE Minnesota and the Old Settlers of Winona. Eunice had received the Winona County Retired Teacher of the Year award in 2004. She was active with the Winona County Republicans and had served as county chair. Survivors include her husband L. Donald, two children, Eunice Rae Goodrich of Plymouth and Richard Drew Iverson of Winona, five grandchildren, Whitney S. Goodrich, John T. Goodrich, Brian Arvid (Heather) Iverson, Tara Susan (Jason) Fravel and Pamela Katherine Iverson and a great-granddaughter Julia Fravel. She was preceded in death by a grandson Seth Thomas Goodrich. Memorial Services will be 11AM Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Lewiston with the Reverend Tim Gerarden officiating. Burial will be at 2 PM Saturday at Fremont Scotch Cemetery in rural Utica. Friends may call from 6-8 PM Friday at Hoff Funeral Home's Lewiston Chapel. They may also call one before services Saturday at the church.
