Lewiston, Esther Marxhausen, 91, of Lewiston died Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at Winona Community Memorial Hospital. Esther was born September 19, 1916 in Norton Township, Winona County to Herman and Auguste (Janzow) Richter. She and Lenhard Marxhausen were married on July 17, 1941 at Immanuel Lutheran Church ? Silo. They farmed in Norton Township, retiring in 1980. Lenhard died March 24, 1998. Esther moved to Lewiston in April of this year, residing at Speltz Estates Assisted Living. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Norton Township, where Esther taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and was active in Ladies Aid. She also was active in the Sauer Home Auxiliary. She enjoyed baking, playing cards and getting together with friends and family. Survivors include three children; Eugene (Lois) Marxhausen of Rollingstone, Dale (Karen) Marxhausen of Utica and Ileen Marxhausen of Rochester, eight grandchildren; Denise Lecy, Todd Marxhausen, Stacie Stoll, Brent Marxhausen, Paula Michalowski, Tim Marxhausen, Alisa Rossow and Ruth Endthoff, and a brother, Rev. Eldor (May) Richter of Arlington Heights, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lenhard, a grandson, two great-grandchildren, two sisters Adeline and Dorothy and a brother Erwin. Funeral Services will be 11AM Saturday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Norton Township with The Reverend David Eckert officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 PM Friday at Hoff Funeral Home in Lewiston, and one hour before services at the church.
