Esther Lee Clark, 86 of Dover, died Saturday, September 14, 2013 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.Esther was born January 27, 1927 in Eyota to Frederick & Murva (Burdick) Graskamp. She married George F. Clark on June 16, 1947 at the Eyota Methodist Church. The couple farmed north of Dover in Quincy Township their entire married lives. She was a graduate of Eyota High School, Winona State College, with a Masters degree in education. Esther spent her life doing what she loved, teaching; beginning her teaching career at the age of 17 and having taught in Elmira and Burr Oak Schools in rural Olmsted County and in Jefferson School in Rochester. Esther was a leader in Dover scout pack #44 for 40 years and received the scout's Silver Beaver Award, a leader of Quincy Ramblers 4-H Club for 46 years, member of Dover United Methodist Church; Sunday School teacher and served as United Methodist Women officer on the church board. Esther enjoyed reading, gardening and canning; having won many ribbons at local county fairs. She also enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren's sporting events. Survivors include her three children, Ron of Eyota, Rick of Temple City, CA , (Zoe) of Dover and Robin (Bill) Harps of Yucaipa, CA; nine grandchildren, Amanda, Doron, Tyrel, Logan, Chad, Eric, Will, Rebecca and Ross; eleven great-grandchildren, Sylvie, Cora Adele, Kylie, Noah, Ian, Shawn, Shelby, Alex, Randy, Taylar and Baylie; two sisters, Marilyn Allen & Elaine Gommels; and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband, George in 2012; parents and two sons, Ross and Randy.Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Dover Community Church with the Reverend Heather E. Klason officiating. A reception will follow in the Dover Fire Hall with burial in Viola Cemetery following the reception. Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m., Friday at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service - St. Charles and one hour prior to the service at church.
