Esther F. Erdmann, 92, of Rushford, was called home to her God on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Winona Health.On February 8, 1919, Esther was born at home in Hart Township to Paul and Ragna (Boe) Bunke. She was baptized in March 1919 at St. John's Lutheran Church and was later confirmed in 1932. She was united in marriage to Elmer Erdmann on November 26, 1937. Together, they farmed in the Lewiston and St. Charles area, returning to Hart in 1948. Esther and Elmer moved to Rushford in 1981. She was an active member at St. John's Lutheran Church and was a part of the Ladies Aide and quilting groups.Esther was an all-around loving woman. She loved her family, baking, bingo, and crossword puzzles. A true perfectionist at heart, she could do anything she set her mind to. Esther had many interests and hobbies. She enjoyed refinishing and upholstering furniture, baking poppy seed rolls and peppernut Christmas cookies, canning vegetables, and picking berries and flowers on the farm.She is survived by 4 daughters, Joan (Roger) Vitse of Rushford, Joyce (Jerry) Dahl of Rushford, Paula (Larry) Webinger of LaCrescent, Faith (Paul) Anderson of Rushford; 3 sons, David (Gladys) Erdmann of Colorado, John (Glenda) Erdmann of Rushford, Glen (Brenda) Erdmann of Winona; 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister, Myrtle Otis; 4 brothers, Wilton, Robert, Stanley, and Clinton Bunke. Esther was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Elmer; granddaughter, Sheila; and brothers and sisters.Visitation will be at Hoff Funeral Home, Rushford on Saturday, April 9, 2011 from 5-8pm and one hour prior to the service at church. Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 10, 2011 at 2pm at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hart with Reverend Harold Hintzman officiating. Interment will be in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Hart. Memorials may be designated to St. John's Lutheran Church or donor's choice.
