Erma L. Schmidt

Dover, Erma L. Schmidt, 86 of Dover died Tuesday February 19, 2013 at Golden Living Center in St. Charles. Erma was born November 18, 1926 near Ostrander to John and Grace (Gatlin) Buss. She and Oscar Schmidt were married on June 7, 1943 in Cresco, IA. The couple farmed in Spring Valley and Ostrander before moving to Dover to farm in 1959. She farmed for 69 years. Survivors include three children; Walter (Marian) Schmidt of Dover, William "Bill" (Bonnie) Schmidt of Stewartville and Priscilla (Thomas Anantharaman) Schmidt of DeForest, WI, seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, two brothers; Harold Buss of Kellogg and Fay Buss of Minneapolis, two sisters; Alice Ralph of Seattle, WA and Donna Clinnin of Belvedere, IL, many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Oscar in 1998 and four brothers. Erma's request was to have Graveside Prayers only which will be at 2PM Saturday at Evergreen Cemetery in Dover.
