Emily F. Urban

St. Charles, Emily F. Urban, 91, of St. Charles died Saturday May 31, 2008 at Golden Living Center ? Whitewater in St. Charles. Emily was born February 23, 1917 in rural St. Charles to Chancy and Selma (Nienow) Persons. After completing teacher's training in St. Charles, Emily taught in rural schools for four years. She and Arny Urban were married June 10, 1942. They farmed in rural St. Charles. Throughout her life Emily has been involved in church activities at St. Charles Bible Church. In later years she enjoyed reading to the residents of Whitewater Healthcare Center. Emily is survived by a son Darrell (Jeanette) Urban who continues to farm the home place near St. Charles and a daughter Marilyn (Dennis) Harvey and their four children; Christy, Michael, Matthew and Timmy. She is further survived by three great grandchildren and a brother Curtis (Marjorie) Persons of St. Charles. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arny on April 10, 1990 also by three brothers, Harold, Myron and Russell and by a sister Doris. Funeral Services will be 10AM Thursday at St. Charles Bible Church with Pastor Les Pearson officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, St. Charles. Friends may call from 4-7 PM Wednesday at Hoff Funeral Home in St. Charles. They may also call one hour before services at the church.
