Emil A. Twedt, age 94, passed away on July 1, 2016 at Sauer Healthcare, Winona, Minnesota.
He was born on June 22, 1922, to Enos and Agnes (Kaulbarsch) Twedt near Whalan, MN. He was baptised and confirmed at Highland Lutheran Church, and attended the Highland country school. Emil was in the Army from 1945 to 1948 and stationed in Japan. He married Hazel Knutson in 1946. Hazel preceeded Emil in death on January 3, 1999. Emil was a farmer and truck driver prior to moving to Stockton, Minnesota. There he worked for Webster Lumber Company of Bangor, Wisconsin for twenty years. He then worked for Winona Monument Company until his retirement. He is survived by one sister-in-law, Ione Hallum, of Rushford, MN and one brother-in-law, Merle Knutson, of Preston, MN and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be 2 pm Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Johnson-Riley funeral Home
With Pastor Kerry Eversole officiating. Visitation will be from 1-2 prior to Funeral. Military honors will take place at Lanesboro cemetery by the Whalan American Legion and the Lanesboro American Legion. Johnson-Riley Funeral Home, Lanesboro MN
