Elton "Bud" E. Geilow, 68 of Money Creek, MN died Saturday, February 5, 2005 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. Elton was born on March 21, 1936 to Elmer and Evelyn (Braatz) Gielow in Winona, MN. He grew up in Houston, MN and entered the Air Force in 1955. He served for 18 months in Germany. He later married Jeannine M. Charette on April 25, 1956 while stationed in Maine. The couple moved to St. Charles, MN after leaving the Air Force. They lived and raised their family in Winona, and moved to Houston, MN in 2000 after they both retired. Bud had worked as a truck driver for International Transport; Winona Truck Leasing; Dray Line; and Bay State Milling until retiring in 1991. He loved trophy hunting in the U.S. and Canada. He was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Houston, the N.R.A., Houston Gun Club, Lewiston Gun Club, Winona Valley Riders, and the Lewiston Golf Course. He enjoyed his garden and taking care of his lawn. He enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. Bud is survived by his wife and two sons; Gregory (Joyce) Geilow, Eyota, MN, Wade Geilow, Lake Hughes, CA. Five grandchildren; Michael, Heidi, Nathan Geilow, Sarah Moore and John Y. Grattan III. Two Brothers Karrol (Diane) Gielow, Rushford, MN, Richard (Mavis) Gielow, Winona, MN. Two sisters; Helen Kingsley, Rushford, MN, Karen (Roger) Roth, Houston, MN. Two Brothers-in-law; Raymond Orlikowski, Winona, MN and Layton Mundt, St. Charles, MN. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; and special hunting friends Roger and Randy Kingsley and Randy Steinfeldt. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Kathleen Grattan, a son Jeffery Geilow, an infant brother Ronald, two sisters Arlene Orlikowski and Rose Mundt.; a brother-in-law Louis Kingsley; and father and mother in-law Toussaint and Stella Charette. A Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 9, 2005 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Houston. Rev. William Kulas will be the officiant. A visitation will be on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Hoff Funeral Home ? Houston Chapel. There will be a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Friends may also call one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Houston with Military Honors. Memorials to the American Heart Association are suggested in lieu of flowers.
