St. Charles, Elsie A. (Motske) Waechter, 91, of St. Charles died Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Golden Living Center - Whitewater in St. Charles. Elsie was born November 15, 1920 in St. Charles to William and Marie (Spillum) Henry. She attended Clyde country school and graduated from St. Charles High School in 1938. Elsie married Ralph Motske May 5, 1942 in St. Charles. They made their home in St. Charles where they raised their five children. Elsie worked for Home Produce and for Whitewater Healthcare Center as a nursing assistant for many years. Ralph died in 1997. Elsie later re-united with her high school sweetheart, Lawrence Waechter. They married in 1999. Lawrence died in 2002. Elsie entered St. Charles Assisted Living in 2010 and the Golden Living Center in October of 2011. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and a founding member of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Daughters. Elsie enjoyed singing in the Church choir and for many funerals with her sisters the early 'Henry Girls.' Survivors include her children; Steven (Mary) Motske of Huntington Beach, CA; Richard (Karen) Motske of Laguna Niguel, CA; Michael (Carol) Motske of Cedar Rapids, IA, Diedre (Dick) Nienow of St. Charles and Kevin Motske of St. Charles, 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren with two more arriving soon, a sister Lois (Dale) Hulshizer of St. Charles, sister-in-law Helen Kohner of Winona and a brother-in-law Harold Bartsh of St. Charles. She was preceded in death by her sister Gladys Bartsh. A Funeral Mass to Celebrate Elsie's life will be 11AM Saturday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with The Reverend Kurt Farrell officiating. Cremation will follow with burial of Elsie's cremated body in Calvary Cemetery in the spring. Friends may call from 5-8PM Friday at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in St. Charles.
