RUSHFORD, MINN. Elmer "Tuggle" S. Rislove, 91, died Thursday, March 3, 2005 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford. Elmer was born June 24, 1913 to Seth and Ella (Rostvold) Rislove in Rushford. He attended Rushford High School. He married Beatrice H. Otis on February 20, 1940 in Decorah, IA, and served in the Army during WWII as a combat infantry soldier from 1943-45; in New Guinea, Philippine Is., Army of Occupation of Japan and earned the Bronze Star, Purple Heart and several other medals. Elmer worked with his father in construction, was a welder at Boeing Aircraft in Seattle, WA, worked at Pure Ice Co. in Rushford, he was a meat cutter and owner of the Farmers Market in Rushford for 20 years. He was a member of Rushford Lutheran Church, Rushford Legion Post, Rushford VFW and Commercial Club. He was two-time commander of the Rushford Legion Post and was Fillmore County Legion Commander. He is survived by his wife Beatrice, two sons David J. (Susan) Rislove, Winona, MN and Philip K. (Rebecca) Rislove, Topeka, KS.; four grandchildren, Kaye Kragenbring, Hastings, MN, Lori (Lew) Fellows, Albia, IA, Ellen (Scott) Meens, Aurora, CO, Seth Rislove, Eudora, KS., eight great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. A sister Ann Johnson, Rochester, MN, three brothers Lyle (Beverly) Rislove, Rushford, Seth Edwin (Marcy) Los Alamos, NM, Allan (Marj) Fremont, NH. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Joseph and Lynn, and a sister Isabelle. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2005 at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel. Rev. Roger Michaelson will be the officiant. Visitation will be for two hours prior to the service (11 a.m. ? 1:00 p.m.) at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rushford Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Good Shepherd Foundation.
