St. Charles, Elmer W. "Shorty" Reps, 81, of rural St. Charles died Sunday August 29, 2004 at Whitewater Healthcare Center in St. Charles. Elmer was born April 30, 1923 at Minnesota City, Winona County to Paul and Barbara (Denzer) Reps, Sr. He and Lillian Thompson were married January 21, 1945 at Rushford. The couple farmed in the Fremont Area and near St. Charles. They have lived the past 14 years south of St. Charles. In addition to farming Elmer was a livestock dealer for many years. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in St. Charles and a former member of North Prairie Lutheran Church in rural Lanesboro. At North Prairie he had been active in church council and in various groups. His life was family and his cows. Survivors include his wife Lillian, 11 children, Dana (Tom) Schott of Eyota; Dennis (Marcia) Reps of Utica; Sherry (John) Slavin of St. Charles; Larry (LaVonne) Reps of Lewiston; Koni (David) Lange of Hastings; Kristi (Dave) Tveten of Lewiston; Jeff (Hilary) Reps of St. Charles; Terry (Shawn) Reps of St. Charles; Daniel Reps of Utica; Tom (Kathy) Reps of Bellgrade, MN and Tim (Lisa) Reps of Utica, 53 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, three brothers, Bob (Betty) Reps of Lewiston, Richard (Bev) Reps of Utica and Douglas Reps of St. Charles and a sister Fern (Leon) Kieffer of St. Charles. Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Lynda, a grandson Darren and three brothers Harold "Jim", Paul, Jr. and Edwin. Funeral Services will be 2PM Friday at Faith Lutheran Church in St. Charles with the Rev. James Peterson of Byron officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery in St. Charles. Friends may call a Faith Lutheran Church from 4-8 PM Thursday and one hour before services Friday. There will be a prayer service at 8 PM Thursday at the church. Hoff Funeral Home's ?
