WINONA, MINN. Elmer Charles Kohner, 80, formerly of Rollingstone and Red Wing, MN, died Thursday, June 2, 2005 at Winona Manor. Elmer was born February 24, 1925 in Rollingstone, MN to Edward and Isabel (Feil) Kohner. He graduated from Rollingstone High School, and he served in the Army from 1950-1952. Elmer married Arlene Hanson on October 16, 1951. He worked for 34 years at Bay State Milling in Winona and Red Wing, MN, and he retired in 1987. Elmer was a member of the Winona and Red Wing, MN American Legions; and he was past Commander in Red Wing. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. Elmer is survived by his wife Arlene, one daughter; Cindy Kohner, Red Wing, MN; three sons; Steven (Gwen) Kohner, Red Wing, MN, Jim (Bev) Kohner, Winona, MN, Dave (Beth) Kohner, Pine Island, MN. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, and two sisters; Clanette Gensmer, Rollingston, MN, and Mary (Buster) Thorne, Winona, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters; Barbara and Peggy; and four brothers; Cyrus, Bernard, Stanley, and Arthur. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 6, 2005 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Rollingstone, MN. Rev. Roy Literski will be the officiant. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, June 5, 2005 at the church, and one hour before the service at the church.
