Ella E. Taylor

RUSHFORD, MINN. - Ella E. Taylor, 97, of Rushford died Thursday, March 10, 2005, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford. She was born in rural Rushford on February 11, 1908, to Ernest and Clara (Feine) Eggert. Ella was raised in the Rushford area, attended Rushford High School and Graduated from Winona General Hospital School of Nursing in 1929. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Winona General Hospital which is now known as Community Memorial Hospital and at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford. She married Verne Taylor on May 21, 1932 in Hart, Minn. The couple lived in Duluth, Minn. for 16 years, moving back to Rushford in 1950, where Ella lived the remainder of her life. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Rushford. She is survived by two daughters: Donna (Dan) Swiggum of St. Charles, Minn. and Mary (Kenneth) Boehmke of Rushford, Minn.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Ella was preceded in death by her Husband; one sister, Agnes; one brother Conrad; and one granddaughter, Rochelle. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel. Burial will be in the Oak Grove City Cemetery, Rushford. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. The family prefers memorials in lieu of flowers.
