Winona, MN Elizabeth "Betty" M. Klinger, 84, of Rollingstone, MN, died Thursday, May 21, 2009 at Lake Winona Manor after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Betty was born February 11, 1925 in Winona County to Michael and Eleanor (Guenther) Hengel. She graduated from Rollingstone Holy Trinity School and worked at Woolworth's in Winona. On October 21, 1945 she married William "Bill" Klinger. Together they owned and operated Bill & Betty's Tavern in Rollingstone until 1975. She also worked at Bridgeman's in Winona and Camera Art in Lewiston. She lived in Rollingstone her whole life. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and its St. Theresa's Society. Betty enjoyed sewing, tying quilts, gardening, and took great pride in her sons and cherished her grandchildren and great grandson. Betty's family would like to give a very special thanks to her niece's Christy Wheeler and Jodi Rivers. Betty will be dearly missed. Betty is survived by her two sons, Bill (Teresa) Klinger of Wisconsin Dells, WI and Bob (Jerre) Klinger of Rollingstone, MN; four grandchildren, Ben Klinger, Kortnie (John) Glodowski, Kassi Klinger, and Molly Klinger; great grandson Bobby James; brother Michael Hengel of Winona, MN; brother-in-law Gene Klinger of Montesano, WA; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill who passed away July 15, 1991, brother Francis, and two sisters Marcella and Delores. The Funeral Mass for Betty will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Rollingstone, MN with the Reverend Donald Lovas officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8pm of Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with at Prayer Service at 7:30pm. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
