Elizabeth "Betty" H. Lowe, 89, died Tuesday, October 27, 2009, at her home in Winona, MN. Betty was born January 22, 1920, in Winona, MN, to Frank and Johanna (Lindeman) Schneider. She married W.W. "Bud" Lowe on December 20, 1952, in Winona. Betty had worked for Singer Sewing Co., Winona Park and Rec., and was the hot lunch manager for Cathedral School. Betty was a member of Cathedral of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, charter member of the Garden Club in Winona of which she received many awards, Cathedral quilting guild, Winona County quilting guild, and Catholic Daughters. Betty loved to quilt and was honored by having one of her works hang on display at the state capitol of Colorado.Survivors include her son, Geoffrey (Karen) Lowe of Winona; grandchildren, Jason (Kelly) Lowe, Timothy Dorn, Chantelle (Bernie) Merchlewitz, and Chad Dorn; great-grandchildren, Akala and Gavin Lowe, Arron and Brooke Merchlewitz, and Alex Dorn; and sisters, Lorraine Losinski of LaCrescent, MN, and Mary Jo Christenson of Littleton, CO; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bud, brother, Jim, and sisters, Margaret, Gert, Dorothy and Helen. A Memorial Mass will be offered on Monday, November 2, 2009, at 11:00am at Cathedral of Sacred Heart in Winona. Burial will take place at a later date in St. Mary's Cemetery in Winona.
